Now in its seventeenth year, this string orchestra concert continues to bring its seasonal magic to delighted audiences. The concert in Berkeley Castle’s magnificent Great Hall will be preceded by a reception from 5pm in the lovely Long Drawing Room where you can enjoy wine, mince pies and other festive fare. The programme comprises beautiful music from the baroque, classical and romantic periods and includes one of the most loved Baroque orchestral works, Bach’s E major Violin Concerto; a Mozart symphony demonstrating, along with others he wrote around the same time, a new level of inspiration; and compositions by Mendelssohn, Bizet and Anderson. There is also a celebration of Christmas with Corelli’s most famous work.
