Boehm Duo with viola
Louisa Davidson (clarinet), Tim Sidford (piano) with Daniel Neville (viola)
A welcome return of the acclaimed Boehm Duo, this time with the highly-respected violist Daniel Neville, to perform some of the most beautiful music written for this combination, ranging from the late 18th Century to the 1960s. Mozart’s so-called ‘Kegelstatt’ Trio is, as far as we know, the first work to have been composed for clarinet, viola and piano, though it was to inspire many outstanding subsequent compositions, notable among which are the three works by Schumann, Max Bruch and Gordon Jacob that make up the rest of the programme.
Full programme:
Mozart | Trio in E flat K498 (‘Kegelstatt’) |
---|---|
Gordon Jacob | Trio for clarinet, viola & piano |
Schumann | Märchenerzählungen (Fairytales) Op 132 |
Max Bruch | 3 Trios from 8 Pieces Op 83 |
Tickets: £12 (students £6) from Leominster TIC on 01568 616460
