Frith Piano Quartet with double bass

Benjamin Frith (piano), David Le Page (violin), Robin Ireland (viola), Richard Jenkinson (cello) with John Tattersdill (double bass)

Recipients of glowing reviews, the Frith Piano Quartet are widely acknowledged to be one of Britain’s finest exponents in their field. Joined by the outstanding double bass player John Tattersdill, they will be playing the most alluring programme. The concert begins with a sublime piano quartet by Mozart and ends with what is surely the most famous of all Piano Quintets, the ‘Trout’ by Schubert, a work of unending lyricism. Between the two will be heard a delightful piano quintet by the Austrian composer Hummel, who bridges the gap between the Classical and Romantic eras.

Full programme:

Mozart Piano Quartet in G minor K478
Hummel Piano Quintet in E flat Op 87
Schubert Piano Quintet in A D667 (‘Trout’)
